Privacy Policy

Preptin ("we", "our", or "us") provides an AI-powered learning and interview preparation platform, including our Chrome extension, website, and related services ("Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information.

In plain language: Preptin turns your coding submissions into readiness signals, revision plans, recommendations, and progress insights. We only use your data to provide and improve those user-facing features. We do not sell your personal data.

• Account Information: When you create an account or sign in, we may collect your name, username, email address, profile image, password hash when you use email/password login, and authentication/session information. We never collect or store your Google password.
• Coding Platform Data: If you connect or use supported coding platforms such as LeetCode, Codeforces, CodeChef, or GeeksforGeeks, we may collect platform handles, verification evidence, problem titles, problem URLs, submission IDs, verdicts, programming language, runtime, memory, timestamps, and related submission metadata.
• Extension Submission Capture: If you enable AI analysis in the browser extension, the extension may capture submitted solution code when you press submit on a supported coding site. We use this submitted code to generate analysis, mistake patterns, topic mastery, readiness signals, revision suggestions, and recommendations. We do not use the extension to collect unrelated browsing history or unrelated website content.
• Historical Sync Data: If you start a historical sync, we may import past submission metadata from supported platforms. Historical sync is separate from live submitted-code capture.
• AI Processing Data: Submitted code, problem-related content, and learning context may be securely transmitted to third-party AI providers solely to provide Preptin features such as solution review, explanations, recommendations, readiness analysis, and revision planning.
• GitHub Integration Data: If you connect your GitHub account, we access only the permissions you explicitly grant for repository creation or updates.
• Billing Data: If you purchase a paid plan, our payment processor may process payment information. We store subscription status, plan, invoice/payment references, billing dates, and limited payment method labels. We do not store full card numbers, UPI credentials, or bank mandate secrets.
• Usage & Analytics Data: We may collect technical and product usage data such as device type, browser version, request logs, feature usage, error logs, and performance data to operate, secure, and improve our Services.

• Provide AI explanations, code review, and learning insights
• Calculate readiness, topic mastery, weak concepts, and mistake patterns
• Generate revision plans, recommendations, notes, and progress dashboards
• Sync or export content to GitHub when you authorize it
• Process subscriptions, invoices, payments, refunds, and billing support
• Improve product performance, reliability, and feature quality
• Communicate important account, security, billing, and product updates
• Protect the Services, prevent misuse, debug issues, and comply with law

The browser extension is designed to work on supported coding and preparation pages. Some extension features, such as platform verification or problem context detection, may read page metadata needed for that feature. Live submitted-code capture is only enabled after you choose to enable AI analysis in the extension.

• You can choose not to enable AI analysis. If you do not enable it, the extension should not capture submitted solution code.
• You can turn submission capture off again from the extension controls when available or by contacting us.
• We do not use extension data for advertising, retargeting, or selling user profiles.
• We use extension data only to provide or improve Preptin's user-facing preparation, analysis, sync, verification, and productivity features.

Preptin may use third-party AI providers to process submitted code and problem context for product features. We send only the information reasonably needed for the requested analysis or recommendation. We do not allow third-party AI providers to use your data for advertising on our behalf.

We restrict employee and contractor access to personal data. Humans do not review your submitted solution code except when you explicitly request support, when necessary for security or abuse investigation, to comply with law, or using aggregated/anonymized data for internal operations.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process personal data based on:

• Your consent
• Performance of a contract (providing Services)
• Legitimate interests (improving product & security)
• Legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data.

• Service Providers: Hosting, database, analytics, error monitoring, email, AI providers, and payment processors that help us operate the Services.
• Legal Compliance: If required by law or to protect our rights.
• Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as permitted by law and this policy.

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide Services or comply with legal obligations. Submission history, submitted code, AI analysis, notes, revision plans, and readiness data may remain in your account until you delete them, delete your account, or request deletion. Billing and transaction records may be retained longer where required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@preptin.ai. Upon deletion, personal data will be removed within a reasonable timeframe unless retention is required for legal reasons.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including access controls and encrypted transmission where appropriate. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.

Our Services are not directed to individuals under 13 (or equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your information may be processed in countries outside your residence. We implement safeguards where required by law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or email.
